There are times throughout a design project where all the right decisions are made and a great result is achieved. Everyone is happy with the result and nothing else is explored.
During the time around these moments, a design still has the potential to be pushed further over the line of what was expected that breaks into a more significant realm of exploration and potential impact.
This isn’t always possible. Deadlines are real and priorities have to be managed. But, when there’s room to push the design to high levels; it’s always worth it, even if the ideas have to be pulled back.
The adventure and exploration are always worth it and the learnings that come from pushing design to its limits are worth keeping for future projects.
